Good Times.

Mon May 25, 2009, 10:47 AM
Yeah.

Dad's been in Ohio visiting old friends until this Wednesday.

So on Friday, ~Callistofox, ~octootco, ~Nazerath, Ben, & Bianca all came to my house for cake, soda, Callisto's wonderful homemade soup, & video games. ~PsychoPointFive showed up for a bit, & sadly, ~KaiyaNozomi was unable to join us. We missed you, Kitten! <='(
We played video games for a long time, ate good stuff, & later went to Sears to play Sardines, which was awesome. Then they decide they want to sleepover at my place. Only Callisto, Octo & Naz were able to stay, so we all went to Which Wich before driving Ben home. [Bianca & Psych took their own cars home.
So Callisto, Octo, Naz & I played some more games, then went beddy-by, then woke up at the unnaturally early time of 8:something am, played some more fun games, went to Pastian's again for some delicious pastries, came back, & finished playing more fun games. They left around 4:30- 5pm, something like that.

Then the next day, Ben I went all over Central trying to sell old books & clothes & stuff. Then we went to Sonic, & stopped by B&N, where I was just ecstatic to see that 'Dogs', one of my favorite manga of all time, is finally getting out in print here in the US. They didn't have volume 4 of Ral/Grad yet, but they should get it in soon. I picked up some Anne Rice stuff, tho'. Then, we went to the Movies 8 dollar theatre to watch "Paul Blart: Mall Cop', which was real funny.

Yep, overall a fun couple o' days. Even though not many places bought our stuff, they did buy some of our stuff. We pretty much still have a lot left over. If I had a yard sale, would anyone come to buy stuff? It's pretty neat stuff, I'll tell ya that. I wonder if my favorite pawn shop would buy my lava lamp & skis?

Anyway, I should probably add this: to my friends- next time we do something like this, you guys have to help pay for stuff, because on Thursday morning I had at least 99$ in that wallet. The sleepover ran it down to 48$, after the soup ingredients & the soda & chips & cake & pastries + tax. That's 51$ out of my hard- earned savings [which probably would have just been spent on books & DVDs]. I had to put some gas in the Ford yesterday, so now I'm down to a measly 14$. I plan to go to the Giant for milk today, so in a little while, it'll be 11$ or so. If I weren't so accustomed to living off of Ramen, apples, sugar, milk & tap water, then I might actually feel all bad. I don't blame you guys for anything, I just think that the next party should be at someone else's house. Someone else who isn't so greedy as I happen to be.

Anyways, I plan to spend the next few days looking for ways to sell things. If you know anyone who likes to go to yard sales, then please tell them & then call me so I can drag some stuff out to the front lawn.

I really need to sell some stuff.

Glad you had a great time while the old Daddy-O was gone. You should tell your friends beforehand to pitch in for party stuff, it's a shame they didn't think of it on their own.

Glad to see you're reading Anne Rice. It's slow to start, but it will pick up quickly. :)

Lestat is such a bastard in the first book, isn't he?

You can count on me being a huge contributor to the party when I have my own income. But until then, I'm sorry you have to just bear with me. ): All I could bring were games, and I'm sorry.

But hey, it was fun, and I'm glad you put up with us. Thank you for having us over.

Meh, we all just got out of school without having massacred the staff by now. We don't think too good right now. :slow:
We're like the definition of 'making it up as we go along.'

Yep, total prick. Interesting character, tho'.

Yeah, my son got out not too long ago and he's enjoying NOT having to get up at 6:30 a.m.

Your opinion of Lestat will change GREATLY in the next novel as he explains all his actions and honestly endears himself to the reader. He's a seriously deep character and he appears in a few other Anne Rice books as well.

Yeah, I get a bit of the 'he's alright' vibe, in little spaces between him being a total bastard.
I just love a complex character background. =B

Here's an interesting piece of trivia - when Anne Rice first wrote about Lestat, she was picturing Rutger Hauer's character in the movie "Bladerunner." :)

I've looked up pictures of Mr. Hauer, & I gotta say...

I did not imagine his hair so short.
But I see what she means.

You've got to remember this was quite a few years back when she was writing "Interview." Hauer looked pretty punk in Bladerunner and he was seriously killer in his floor-length leather coat. Anne Rice also admitted that the mode of dress of gay males in New Orleans (where she lives/lived) were also a big inspiration for her vampires.
